Wat ga je doen?

We are currently recruiting a Digital Communications Manager/Channel Lead – Web & Associated Platforms to support the definition & implementation of the Tata Steel digital marketing strategy. Within the role you will be responsible for the web platforms and related activities (such as search engine optimisation, paid advertising, analytics etc) elements of the Tata Steel digital strategy. The role holder will lead in the strategic development of this channel and identify areas for improvement and they will also understand how this channel enables the delivery of multi-channel campaigns. Where appropriate they will be able to define and lead specific campaign activities, from multi-channel definition through to measurable outcomes. They will also have a sound appreciation of how the channel needs to be structured and managed to support Tata Ssteel’s Data Privacy obligations. You will also have a shared responsibility to produce regular channel-related reporting in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of our digital communication activities.


Duties and responsibilities within the role will include but not be limited to:

  • To improve the effectiveness of our online communications, both delivered by the new digital team and with audience group experts (e.g sector marketing teams, HR, CCPA).
  • To support the delivery of content development audience marketing communication plans through consultation, assisted planning and application of developed governance processes.
  • To manage the channel processes across all sector/audience websites, including benchmarking, monitoring and identifying enhancements. The post holder will manage the implementation of enhancements via the content owners, or through direct CMS access.
  • Take the lead as platform ‘super admin’ for web channel related applications and as the first point of reference, e.g for domain name change. In this example ensuring that any proposed changes meet with the overall web channel strategy and working with suppliers to deliver the agreed changes.
  • Support the Head of Digital Marketing in various digital marketing projects, including a longer term evolution of our global web presences.
  • To be a point of reference for digital activity per se, providing thought leadership across the business.
  • Assist in supplier reviews together with the Head of Digital marketing & Group Information Services business partner.
  • Continually demonstrate, through communication and action, that safety is your top priority. Actively encourage and support ideas to improve health and safety in order to create a zero harm environment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's Commercial Policies and Standards.

Applicants will be passionate about executing digital media to engage with our customers and audiences on a wide variety of topics. A hands on specialist in their craft, this role is about executing digital marketing with a focus on measurable impact.
In approaching the task, the job-holder must navigate skilfully across the matrix nature of the organisation, developing effective working relationships with colleagues both across Sales and Marketing and the wider organisation.

Knowledge and experience will include:

  • Applicants will be experienced of a B2B or B2C Digital Marketing/E-commerce team or agency.
  • The individual will have demonstrable knowledge of running successful websites, and will understand the latest techniques, e.g to improve search engine rankings.
  • The role holder should be able to support complex projects to the required cost, quality and timeline.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of digital marketing, including demonstrable experience of digital campaign management, code optimisation, social media marketing, optimising of imagery for web and a good understanding of SEO techniques
  • Extensive experience in CMS systems (preferably Drupal) and website development to maximise audience engagement, and expected proficiency in web-related functionality (e.g HTML, JavaScript, CSS and jQuery).
  • Detailed knowledge of digital analytical tools and be able to use information from these to enhance our digital communications tools to maximise their effectiveness with our audiences.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and optimisation of website pages, including page speed, minification techniques and server side elements
  • Experience in digital marketing communication tools with a demonstrable track record of delivering effective digital marketing campaigns. They will be passionate about new ways of working and new models for finding and connecting with the target audiences.
  • You will preferably have agency management experience, and be able to develop and enforce processes designed to facilitate the smooth running of digital marketing activity.
