Dit ga jij doen

As Risk Lead Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), you steer the strategy, portfolio and enterprise risk agenda of Tata Steel Nederland. You ensure that strategic decisions, major investments (capex), M&A activities and transformation proposals are supported by relevant risk insights, scenario analyses and a clear risk appetite. You deliver board‑level risk reporting and act as a trusted sparring partner for the Executive Board and governance committees.

You lead the full risk assessment cycle, develop the corporate risk profile, and translate risk appetite into manageable indicators. You critically and independently assess major investments and strategic proposals and develop scenario analyses and stress tests that are directly used in decision‑making forums. In addition, you represent Portfolio Risk in multidisciplinary governance, lead the team, safeguard standards and drive continuous improvement of methodologies, tooling and reporting. You maintain contact with external stakeholders such as auditors and regulators and contribute to auditable risk documentation.

  • You will lead strategic and portfolio risk assessments and develop the corporate risk profile for the Board of Directors.
  • You annualy update the risk‑appetite statement and translate risk appetite into measurable KRIs and escalation thresholds.
  • You provide independent risk assessments for major investments, M&A and transformation proposals, challenging assumptions and advising on mitigation.
  • You design, embed and maintain scenario analyses and portfolio stress tests as input for the Board, investment committees and steering groups.
  • You will represent Portfolio Risk in governance forums, lead the team, and continuously improve methodologies, tools, templates and risk documentation.

Herken jij jezelf?

You are a strategic, analytical leader who translates complex risks into clear, decision‑supporting recommendations. You operate with confidence at executive level, remain pragmatic under time pressure, and build effective trust with stakeholders across the organisation. You are energised by developing your team and by scaling risk insights through data and automation. In addition, you have:

  • 8–12 years or more of experience in enterprise or strategic risk, portfolio risk, corporate finance or strategic advisory roles; experience in heavy industry, commodities, energy or manufacturing is preferred; experience in the steel industry is a plus.
  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Industrial/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as FRM, PRM, CFA, MBA or equivalent are desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience with scenario analysis, stress testing, risk‑appetite frameworks and enterprise risk profiling; familiarity with ISO 31000 / COSO frameworks.
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau); familiarity with risk‑modelling tools and basic scripting (Python/R) is a plus.
  • Previous involvement in board‑ or executive‑level reporting and experience working within the three lines of defence model.

You work within the “TSN in Control” programme, part of Risk & Compliance, in close collaboration with Work Units, HSE, operations, maintenance and other stakeholders. Your work directly contributes to audit readiness, board‑level decision‑making, and TSN’s ambition for sustainable and reliable steel production.
